Over the last month or so I’ve been working on new t-shirt designs for my friends band o’death. We ended up going with 3 different designs. 2 were printed on a round of 100 t-shirts each and then a 3rd design was printed on a limited amount of gray sweatshirts.
I’ve been designing and printing t-shirts for a few years now but have never really taken on larger jobs since the way I print is a very diy way, by simple putting a t-shirt down on my printing table, holding the screen down and printing with a small hand squeegie. This way works great is you are only doing a few t-shirts at a time and don’t mind if they all look slightly different, I actually prefer to print my designs this way. But over the last year I’ve been asked to make more and more band shirts and I prefer not to send off my designs to get printing by anyone else, mostly because Portland does not really have a good t-shirt printer on hand. So I decided to take the money from these last few jobs and buy myself a 4 color t-shirt press! I used it for the first time on these shirts and couldn’t be happier! This this is super sturdy and is very easy to use.
I’m hoping this will allow me to feel more confident with my printing skills and open my self up to taking on more jobs and providing something in the community that doesn’t really exist. I can also charge a bit less if I’m doing both the designing and printing.
Below you will find a few shots from the last few days of printing. o’death will be taking these shirts on tour with them on their opening slot for the great band Murder By Death. I will be heading down to the Boston date if you want to come hang out!

I recently put together this Tattooed Hands t-shirt after finishing up a small wood panel with this design. I’ve been playing around with lots of black and white imagery lately and thought this would look pretty good on a black/charcoal t-shirt. Each shirt will be hand printed by myself with care in my studio. I’ve been printing lots of these shirts to order so I make sure each one is up to par and printed well! You can pick up one of these here if you would like!
The printed area of the shirt is roughly 12-12in. in size and printed with white water based inks. Below you will find a few pics of the actual wood panel this shirt design came from. This panel is also for sale, so email me if interested. $75 takes it home!

My good friends in the band CASPIAN are currently on a tour of Asia and Australia. As I understand this is the first time they are going to a lot of these places. They were kind enough to ask me to design a Tshirt for the tour including dates on the back and all! I actually submitted 6 or 7 designs to them but this is the one that we went with! I really enjoyed some of the other designs so they might see the light of day at some point in the near future but probably not as a band tshirt.
I do not have any of these shirts. they are only available through the band on tour and possibly after.
Dates on the back of the shirt.
I found this picture on Instagram of a fan who bought the shirt. My first view of an actual printed shirt since they were printed halfway around the world. Sorry for stealing your photo for my blog.

Just got done printing up some new tshirts for the Portland band Brenda. Just in time for their upcoming shows with Titus Andronicus in Vermont and right here in Portland at SPACE Gallery. View all the info for that show here. If you go down a few posts I also made the flyer for this show.
The concept for this tshirt was made up by the band with a little help from me laying it out to be printed. It’s based off of some video game, but you’ll have to ask the band for details on that one. It was a bunch of fun printing these up. There is only about 16 available, for some reason we always made small run’s of shirts, but I think that makes them even more cool! The last shirts we printed up together were a few months ago and it was a very large upside down triangle on the check of the shirt. Those were all hand printed with a hand squeegee much smaller then a normal one so you could see each print that was layed into the giant triangle. I Believe those are all gone by now but these new shirts are even better and will be available at their show on Tuesday for a very reasonable price. Brenda also has a pretty rocking album called Silver Tower that you should check out.
Below is a few shots from the printing session in which I also made a small run of posters using the tshirt image with hand drawn text on all of them. These will get hung up around Portland in the next few days.
Oh and they also just came out with a new music video!

Two days ago I had the pleasure of printing tshirts for the local Portland band Brenda, lead singer Joshua Loring created the design which is basically a 17inch upside down triangle with their logo printed small at the bottom. We printed a very limited run of 17 shirts but I’m sure with their new found fame playing with Wilco and playing much more shows these days hopefully they will sell out and print up some more. We hand printed these to create texture within each print so they are all different, they were printed on blank Rogues Gallery tshirts.
I really enjoy these shirts and they were a lot of fun to actually make! I dont think I have ever seem a band tshirt quite like this.
These are only available through the band so please go check them out next time you can!
